Well, I didn’t like it. I didn’t buy a single story of his. We all know it’s a monologue, and it’s indeed. And PLEASE don’t get me wrong. I’m all of these:
I’m human-friendly,
A huge believer in human rights
A huge believer in work ethics
Tech-savvy
Not crazy about upgrading things when I don’t need them
Not crazy about waiting in the line to purchase a new product when I don’t need.
I’m a good listener
Educated & experienced enough to judge and examine when I’m told a story.
Given this, I just wondered the entire time that how could someone tell a story beginning with, “I don’t know so much about China, it’s people and it’s culture; but I know this…”
Spectacular mistake! Spectacular mistake! Spectacular mistake!
The only simple conclusion I could draw from this very first sentence is that you can’t talk about s*it without knowing certain “dynamics” on a certain country and its people. You can’t judge things and gather people to inform about it. Everything is interconnected. I’ll complain about this no more!
I didn’t leave the room with a huge question mark in my head. (As they expect you to do so.) Bummer for me, ah?! It didn’t make me come home and turn on my Apple computer and think. (I gave my computer a hug, in stead. It felt so right!) Because I’ve always been giving an enormous amount of time to think and to understand the innovations, devices and the people. For example, I sometimes would think of airplanes. The idea of flying on a place sounds still super fascinating to me. I’d think about those people who came up with this idea! And I’m pretty sure that some people in that room were on the same page with me. Well it’s not really that important. I know what I know.
Here is my friendly advice to you. First and foremost, think twice about spending $75 to go to this show. (I’m serous.) And don’t think that you’re less knowledgeable than Mr. Mike Daise. We all go by our personal experiences in life. That’s how we perceive the world.
Surprise, surprise!!
